TOWNSEND,
Willie C. Townsend, Sr., 77. Sunrise December 13, 1934 and Sunset September 21, 2012. Mr. Townsend is a retired veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie C. Townsend and Maggie Reeder, son Willie C. Townsend, Jr., daughter Annette Townsend, granddaughter Shawnte Gavin and great granddaught4er Dalarah Howard. Left to cherish his memory, wife Frances Townsend, sons Dennis P. Townsend and Alex J. (Liz) Townsend, Sr., daughters Delphine (Charles) McKinnon, Taundra (Lance) Roberts, Annie (Otis) Townsend Barnett, Francine Smith and Danielle Townsend, 14 grandchildren including special grandchildren Bobby Joe Gavin Jr., Shaniece Annette Gavin and Shaneka A. Gavin, 13 great grandchildren, special cousins Brenda and Sylvester Gray and a host of other relatives and friends.

Dear family: Though I did not know him long he felt like a papa to me. I will miss him.
Although we did not have the privilege of meeting Mr. Townsend in this life, Alex and AJ spoke of him with such joy and I know that they will miss him dearly. Our sincere condolences goes to the entire Townsend Family at the loss of your loved one. May the Grace of our God bring you Peace and Comfort in the days ahead.
