TOWNSEND,

Willie C. Townsend, Sr., 77. Sunrise December 13, 1934 and Sunset September 21, 2012. Mr. Townsend is a retired veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie C. Townsend and Maggie Reeder, son Willie C. Townsend, Jr., daughter Annette Townsend, granddaughter Shawnte Gavin and great granddaught4er Dalarah Howard. Left to cherish his memory, wife Frances Townsend, sons Dennis P. Townsend and Alex J. (Liz) Townsend, Sr., daughters Delphine (Charles) McKinnon, Taundra (Lance) Roberts, Annie (Otis) Townsend Barnett, Francine Smith and Danielle Townsend, 14 grandchildren including special grandchildren Bobby Joe Gavin Jr., Shaniece Annette Gavin and Shaneka A. Gavin, 13 great grandchildren, special cousins Brenda and Sylvester Gray and a host of other relatives and friends.

Although we did not have the privilege of meeting Mr. Townsend in this life, Alex and AJ spoke of him with such joy and I know that they will miss him dearly.
