Adrienne V. Ross

Adrienne Ross Main picture

Adrienne V. Ross was born January 22, 1954, in Dayton, Ohio, from the union of Joyce M. Lee and Irvin C. Lewis, Sr. She departed this life on December 25, 2023, in Columbus, Ohio.

Adrienne attended Dayton City Public Schools, and later lived in California and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree. She worked various jobs in the sales industry, retired from AT&T, and in her later years she worked at Chase and VSP. In her early years she received several accolades as an employee, which allowed her to travel and see the world.

She loved the outdoors, fishing with her husband and was an avid reader, great storyteller and writer of many poems, which she copyrighted. She Cherished her dogs, of which she had throughout the years, as well as her treasured exotic fish.

Adrienne was a go-getter, an OG as we say affectionately, and was a budding entrepreneur, as she made her “JOY” Amazing Oil, which she sold throughout the city at various markets, and many can say they were repeat customer!

She accepted Christ at an early age and would send inspirational quotes to many daily to uplift and motivate. She was a spiritual woman of God who prayed fervent prayers and read her bible daily.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Michael Ross; parents, Joyce M. Lee and Irvin C. Lewis, Sr; sisters, Tonya Lewis (Larry), Renee Caldwell (Craig), Kimberly Coleman; sister-in-law Karen Ross; stepsons, Bradon L. and Nicholas A. Ross; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends, including her sisters from the Women of Essence; and special friends, Taimi Calhoun, and Susan Bass. And last, but certainly not least, her beloved fur babies, Aliko, and Venus whom she loved dearly and will miss her most.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Wednesday, January 3, 2023 at MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd)

I’m going to miss my wonderful neighbor and friend. We knew each other for years but developed a close bond when I moved in with my grandmother after my grandfather’s passing. She always looked out for us; we did the same for her and her fur babies. Thank you for the laughs and most importantly your friendship.

To the family of Adrienne Ross, my condolences and prayers to you. I met Adrienne at the Martin Janis Sr Center at the fairgrounds we were sitting next to each other in our vendors booth. She would send me uplifting spiritual quotes everyday. We talked & enjoyed each other’s company many different ways. I was with her on her last visit to the zangmeister cancer center when we found out what was really going on with her health. We had plans to do more shows together but God had other plans for my friend. I miss you Adrienne I have caught myself wanting to send you videos on tiktok and Facebook. I know you are in a much better place now free of pain. I thank God for allowing are paths to cross, I will see you again in heaven. Love you & miss you

    Adrienne,
You slipped away from us, didn’t know you were ill. Was shocked to learn of your transitioning.
Gone too soon in our time, but we are only on loan from God, Himself. May the family and closest of friends of yours…..Be encouraged and know that, the only way to be with the Father until Jesus’ return is to be transformed through transitioning into His arms of complete safety and Peace. May the PEACE of God consumed you beyond ALL understanding!
    Godspeed!
