Booker Moody

Booker Moody 78, sunrise September 5, 1945, sunset September 24, 2023. Booker left this world peacefully. He loved hunting and was a master fisherman. He’d out fish anyone who went with him. He loved his family dearly and was an absolute standup guy.

He was a very hard worker as he started working at the age of 7 years old and worked until he was 70 years old. He worked for Savko and Sons for 20 plus years.

He enjoyed listening to James Brown, playing spades, gambling, watching westerns and taking his mess on his front porch with his side kick and brother Willie Lee Williams Sr. To know him was to love him.

Booker leaves behind seven children who will cherish his memories, Verlinda Harris, Anthony Moody, Andre Thrope, Brandi Brown, Mikal Brown, Valerie Brown, and Traci Brown. 24 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, and nephews. He was a father figure to Mike Brown, Tyrone Jackson, Willie Williams Jr., and Tyrone Tatum. His partner for 40 years, Victoria Brown; sisters-in-law, Louise Dixon and Valerie Paker; brother- in-law, Tommy Brown.

Booker is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Mary (Moody), Barney (June) Hardison; granddaughter, Jordan Williams; brother-in-law and fishing buddy, Tyrone (tootie) Thompson Sr. We can’t forget his Savko and Sons family, Andy and Marty Savko and Michael O’Rilley.

Visitation 1:00 PM and Funeral Service 2:00 PM Thursday, October 5, 2023 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.
