Fred Griffin Muhammad Ⅲ (49) was born November 30, 1974, to the union of Linda Griffin and Fred Griffin Jr. in Columbus, Ohio. Fred Griffin Muhammad Ⅲ attended Independence High School and graduated in 1993. He then went on to attend the University of Detroit Mercy. While in college, Fred joined the nation of Islam where he devoted his life missions to the causes of the nation.

Fred was not only a devoted member of the nation but also a devoted father. While in Union with his first wife, Leanna Balogun (Griffin), Fred welcomed his only son, Hasim Amir Griffin Muhammad to the world on September 4, 2001.
While in Union with his second wife, Sandra Straw (Griffin), Fred welcomed his only daughter, Jene Marie Griffin to the world on April 20, 2009.

Fred had several interests that included being an avid fan of Michigan football and the Cincinnati Bengals. He also enjoyed reading Star Wars books, traveling, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family. Fred’s top favorite activity was to make others smile and laugh. He loved telling jokes and could light up a room with his sense of humor.

Fred is preceded in death by his grandparents, Thelma Redd and Zachary Redd Margaret Griffin and Fred Griffin Sr.

He leaves to cherish his legacy his loving parents, Linda and Fred; his son, Hasim; his daughter, Jene; his brother, David; and his sister, Latoi along with a host of nieces, nephews, and multiple cousins.

Visitation 9:00 AM and Funeral Service 10:00 AM Friday, May 17, 2024 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.).

Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
