Keontae Koreem Harper

Keontae Koreem Harper was born October 23, 2006, in Columbus, Ohio. He departed this life on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. Keontae was baptized per his own request at the age of 6 years old; so we know he is sitting right next to the king. Although we are grieving this tremendous loss, please find comfort in knowing that God has big plans for Keontae, having only allowed us to borrow him for a short period of time.

Keontae was loving, funny, smart, handsome with dimples and a gorgeous smile, and he shined a light on everyone he met! Keontae was very athletic and dominated every sport he played; which included football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. Keontae was also a hard worker and was working at Little Caesars at the time of his passing.

Known as his moms Sonny Boy, his cousins Taetors, his grannys Main Man, Tae, and Tae kashh/Skilla Baby to friends, he loved music and would often freestyle. Keontae loved his friends, life, and family so much. He shared a special bond with his grandfather Michael Harper. Michael made sure that Keontae kept pocket change, and strengthened their bond via “man time”, sock and underwear day, and pizza dates at Tommy’s Pizza.

Keontae had many goals for his future. He planned to graduate from Independence High School in the class of 2024 and obtain his CDL license so that he could be a truck driver like his mommy. Keontae even encouraged his friends to do the same thing!

Keontae’s mom Katrice would like you all to know that she had 16 great years with him. While Katrice thought that she was a blessing to Keontae, she states that Keontae ended up being the biggest blessing she had ever received. Often referring to him as her best friend, true love, soulmate, other half, and her purpose; Katrice plans to live out all of the goals Keontae set for his life on earth, while he does amazing things in heaven.

Special thanks to the Harper Family, Garrett Family, Jeneé Jones (stepmother), Cousins, Friends, and the Blue Wing ICU Team of Mount Carmel East Hospital.
