Mother Mary L. Sellers, 98, one of God's Great Servants, was born October 6, 1924, in
Florence, South Carolina, to the late Dozier and Lillie (Thomas) Holmes.  On Tuesday, August 1,
Mother Sellers went home to meet her beloved Lord and Savior.   
  
Mother Sellers met and married her beloved husband, Bishop Eli Sellers.  Their union produced
three children, Lillie Mae, Eli Jerome; and Don Allen.  The family relocated from San Diego, CA
after Bishop Sellers retired from the Navy. In 1963, the power couple founded Holy Temple
Church of God, Inc. affectionately known as “The Church on 14 th .” 
  
She was a darling First lady, Soloist, Organist, Sunday School Superintendent, Missionary,
Counselor, and Caregiver.  She even had a knack for singing throughout sermons. A typical
Sunday consisted of worship services, family dinner, and reading the newspaper.  She had an
infectious laugh and love for Yoga, Crossword Puzzles and Sudoku.    
  
Mary is preceded in death by her parents Dozier and Lillie Holmes, husband, Bishop Eli Sellers,
daughter Lillie Mae Sellers, sons Eli Jerome Sellers and Don Allen Sellers, sisters Annie Mae
and Geneva, brother Levi, grandson son-in-law Wayne Joyner and great-granddaughters,
Whitney Joyner and Imani Jazlynn Dominguez-Coffey.
Also, she leaves behind her legacy, the Holy Temple Church family. So, rest now you woman of
noble character, you are blessed, and your deeds follow after you.

Visitation 6:00 PM and Funeral Service 7:00 PM Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Faith Ministries, 2747 Agler Rd.

Wednesday, August 9, 2023 10:00 AM Interment at Sunset Cemetery.
