Mr. Mark A Harmon Sr

44

Mark Anthony Harmon Sr., age 64, was born on July 13, 1959, to Mary Arlene (Hearns) Harmon and the late Joe Ellsworth Harmon. Mark passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023 surrounded by his loving family when he transitioned to be with the Lord.

Mark accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in his youth at his family-based church, Trinity Baptist, where his Grandfather, Josephus Harmon, and his father, Joe E. Harmon, served as Deacons, and his mother, Mary Arlene Harmon, served as Deaconess.

Mark attended Columbus City Schools and proudly Graduated as a “Linden Panther” from Linden McKinley High School, where he played football and played his favorite instrument in the Marching Band. He also attended South East Career Center, where he learned his lifelong trade skills as a Graphic Arts designer/ Specializing in being a Cutter Operator, which landed him many career opportunities for over 40 years.

Mark loved spending time with his family and friends. Inviting them over to try out new recipes, he cooked, making his homemade salsas from veggies he grew in his garden, or serving his year-round barbeque ribs. His children were his biggest cheerleaders, affectionately calling him “The Grill Master.” When he wasn’t cooking or working in his yard that he took so much pride in, he was on his boat somewhere fishing, going to festivals or going to see live bands in the summer. Watching football games and scary and action-packed movies was his pastime in the winter.
Mark will truly be missed by everyone who knew him for his memorable quotes, his style of dress, and his contagious smile that would light up any room.
