Patricia Jean Jones

Patricia Jones, aka “Patty Jean”, was born on November 18, 1940 to the union of the late Willie and Mattie Gilbert of Springfield, Ohio.

Patricia transitioned peacefully on to eternal rest on Friday, April 26, 2024, at McNaughten Pointe Nursing Home in Columbus, Ohio.

Patricia was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio where she received her formal education from Springfield High School. She later relocated to Columbus, Ohio where she was employed at Western Electric as a Phone Tech. She ended that career to take on becoming a property owner of J. Square Apartments. During that time she met and married her husband, Allen L. Jones, which blessed their union with three children, Julie Jones, Allen K. Jones, and Marvin Jones.

Patricia, aka “Patty Jean” enjoyed planting flowers, tinkering around in the yard, spending time with family and friends, shopping and always looking for a deal, and reading her Bible.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Mattie Gilbert; son, Allen K. Jones; ex-husband, Allen L. Jones; sisters, Lucille Warren, Rosetta Henry, Dorothy Goodwin, Deloris Patterson, Bobbie Chaney; brothers, Odell Gilbert, Tommy Gilbert; and great-granddaughter, Italy Jazelle Jones.

Patricia leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved son, Marvin L. (Brenda) Jones; daughter, Julie Jones; daughter-in-law, Zeta Jones; grandchildren, Nicole Jones, Marcus Jones, Brittani Jones, Keith Massey, Dominic (Heather) Jones, Marvin A. Jones, Patrick Jones, Allen K. Jones, Tonya Jones, Bryant Jones, and Kadiejah Jones; 21 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special longtime friend/neighbor, Christina Hudson.

Visitation 5:00 PM and Memorial Service 6:00 PM Friday, May 10, 2024, at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd).
