Ronald Ernest Thompson

Ronald thompson

Ronald Ernest Thompson (DJ Buka), age 50, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 22, 2023, in Knoxville TN. Ronald was born December 17, 1972, to Lynn Thompson and Ronald Darling in Columbus, Ohio.

A husband like you is rare Ronald, one that’s so generous, smart and kind. A husband like you is what everyone needs, full of smiles and laughter, always doing great deeds. Nothing can replace a husband like you, but when you get to heaven, God will be lucky to have you too. I will forever love you Hubs.

Ronald is a 1991 Graduate of Marion Franklin High School, Columbus, Oh. He later received an associate degree in Hospitality and Events Management from Hocking College. Ronald “DJ Buka” absolutely loved music and may he continue to be remembered by, “I have mixes for you!” DJ Buka loved going on “digs” collecting vinyl, sharing samples, and making beats. Ronald was a hard worker who never called off from work. All who knew him, knows he was not losing out making money unless he was traveling. God, Music, money, family, traveling, and sneakers were his favorite things.

Ronald is lovingly remembered by his wife, LaKesha Thompson, son, Derek Eggers, stepdaughters RoNesha Crawford, and RaNyah Crawford (BG), mother Lynn Thompson, his “Little Big Sis” Sunny Lynette Kemp and lifelong best friend Jason Rawls. He also leaves a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and half-siblings to cherish his memories. Predeceased in death by his Beloved Grandparents Warren Thompson Sr. and Mary L Thompson. He loved them all!

Let us not be sad for our unexpected loss of Ronald, but let’s find peace knowing he’s at eternal peace. We love you Ronald “DJ Buka” Thompson.

A Celebration of Life for Ronald will take place on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, 1 pm viewing and 2 pm service at, Marlan Gary Funeral Home Chapel of Peace 5456 Livingston Ave., (@ Lonsdale Rd) Columbus, OH 43232.
