Rosie Mae Dailey-Williams

Rosie Mae Dailey-Williams of Columbus, OH, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on October 4, 1945, in Fairhope, Alabama, she was the beloved daughter of Jim and Willie Bell Dailey. Rosie was raised in Pensacola, FL, and moved to Columbus, OH in 1962. Rosie was baptized and added to the body of Christ at an early age at A Street Church of Christ in Pensacola, FL. After moving to Columbus, Rosie placed membership at the Church of Christ on Mount Vernon Avenue, which is now Church of Christ, located on Genessee Avenue.

Rosie retired from Riverside Methodist Hospital. Rosie’s dedication to her work was a shining example of her servant’s heart. As a valued member of the Environmental Services department at Riverside Methodist Hospital, she tirelessly maintained a clean and safe environment, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients and staff alike. Her diligence, kindness, and unwavering commitment left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of working with her.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Rosie enjoyed reading her Bible and watching television. Rosie’s greatest joy resided in the loving embrace of her family. She was the epitome of a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her genuine warmth, infectious laughter, and undeniable love created countless cherished memories that will be forever treasured.

Relying on her unyielding faith, Rosie found solace and strength in the Lord. As an active member of the Church of Christ, she attended Sunday services and Bible classes, she also served in the food pantry which demonstrated her unwavering commitment to serving others. Her quiet acts of compassion and selflessness inspired those around her and will forever be remembered.

Rosie’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of her loved ones. She is lovingly remembered by her children, son, Michael (Rhonda) Dailey and daughter, Jessie (Kevin) Chaney-Copper; grandchildren, Ronald E. Price, Jr., Lawyon Price, De’Lesia Dailey, Maurice Abrams, Lawrence E. Dailey, Jr., Alaisha Sanders, and Kalyse Williams; a host of great grandchildren; as well as her cherished sister, Martha Sanders; and devoted brothers, Jimmie Dailey, Billie Joe (Eleanor) Dailey, Charles Dailey, and Emmett Dailey. Her memory will be forever cherished by a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life, Mr. James Williams, Sr.; son, James Williams, Jr.; and siblings, Pearlie Mae Miner, Hattie Belle Hawkins, Eva Pearl Holifield, Lillie Bracey, Eddie Lou Pleasant, Christana Parish, Cleveland Dailey, Sr., Charlie Lee Dailey, Sr., Dan Dailey, Sr., James Edward Dailey, Leroy Dailey and Uylesses Dailey.

On Monday, January 15, 2024, a celebratory funeral service will be held in honor of Rosie’s life at 11:00 am at the Church of Christ at 1889 on Genessee Avenue, in Columbus, OH. Prior to the service, friends and loved ones may gather for a visitation at the church at 10:00 am. Rosie will be laid to rest at Evergreen Burial Park.

Rosie Mae Dailey-Williams has left behind an enduring legacy woven with kindness, laughter, and unwavering faith. She has shown us the value of selflessness, love, and devotion. Let us gather to celebrate her remarkable journey, honor her memory, and carry her spirit with us always.

May her soul find eternal peace, and may her light continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
