Tyi U’nique Kinzyah Barnett, age 9. She went home to be with the Lord on December 29, 2023. Tyi was born June 26, 2014, to the late Tyleek Freeman and Kizzy Barnett in Columbus, Ohio. TYI, aka “Tyi$” was loved by everyone she encountered. She attended Moler Elementary, in Columbus, OH. She had an old spirit as if she had been here before. Her love of being around family and children was infectious. She was an artist that loved drawing, reading, playing games on her mom’s cell phone, and watching her favorite cartoon show, Bluey.

Tyi had a very special relationship with her mother Kizzy Barnett. Kizzy would often say that she and Tyi’s relationship was a reminder of her mother and grandmother.

Tyi was proceeded in death by her father, Tyleek Freeman; great grandmother, Mattie Barnett; and nephew, Ky’air Thomas.

She is survived by her loving mother, Kizzy Barnett; grandfather, Christopher Lawson; siblings, Otasha Barnett, Omari Barnett and Wilhelmina Barnett; uncles’, Willie (Mckeeya) Barnett, Christopher (Melissa) Barnett; aunt, Christine Barnett; along with three nieces, three nephews, a host of cousins, and other relatives and friends.

She will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday, January 19, 2024 at Christian Valley Baptist Church, 3330 Scottwood Rd..
Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
