Michael J. LaPaugh was born February 3, 1954 in Columbus, Ohio to Charlotte and Paul LaPaugh Sr.

Mike attended South High School after which he joined the United States Navy where he served. Mike was employed at the Columbus Public Schools school board along with his nephew David Howell. Mike created memories of laughter with everyone he met. Whether Alum Creek, Buckeye Lake, or Hoover Dam you could find Mike and his fishing buddy Lester (Tyke). Along with fishing he loved to listen to music. His favorite was Prince, Michael Jackson, Cameo, and last but not lease EWF.

Mike joined and got baptized at Bethany Baptist Church where his good friend Jonathan Bradford Sr. is pastor.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Charlotte and Paul LaPaugh Sr., sisters Paula Cunningham, Edith Howell, brother William LaPaugh, and buddy/nephew Darryl Howell.

He leaves to cherish his memories; daughters Sheena Newsom, Shamecia Brown, son Michael J. LaPaugh Jr., brother Paul G. (Tracey) LaPaugh Sr., sisters Shirley (Carl) Martin, Bernie Cummings, childhood friends Jonathan Miller Sr. and Tony Beasley, also 7 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Visitation 2:00pm and Funeral 3:00pm Friday, February 15, 2019 at the MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 Livingston Ave
