Gene Arthur Branson, fondly known as Geno, was born on July 30, 1942 in Mississippi to Hazel and Arthur Branson. Gene went home to eternal glory on February 26, 2020 at Mt. Carmel hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Megan Braswell; stepfather, Roger Allen, as well as Brian Raymond and Toniqua Curry.

After High School and College, Gene joined the US Army where he became a paratrooper. Gene was a Grand Lodge Officer in the Knights of Pythias, where he once held the title of Imperial Potentate. He loved and looked forward to the championship and camaraderie of his fellow member at “the hall”. He also loved and enjoyed family gatherings surrounded by grandchildren and loved ones.

Gene leaves to cherish his memories, Brent (Dana) Raymond, and Andre (Regina) Henderson; special and devoted friend Lois Spurlock, as well as Jack Raymond, Lisa Slaughter, Lori (Clint) Elmore; grandchildren, Brendan, Dylan, and Jordan Raymond, also Marvin, Lauren, Lena, Michael, Tyerria, Brian, Tiara; and a host of other family and friends.

Gene will be forever missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Saturday, March 7, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.
