Marilyn Pinkston, 68, passed away on March 8, 2022. Marilyn was born on March 11, 1953 in Talladega, AL to Perry Jenkins and Leatha McGhee.
Marilyn was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School; was a member of Shiloh Full Gospel Baptist Church and was a musician at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and many other churches in the city.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Pinkston and siblings, Juanita Smith, Willie Jenkins, Sue Chatman, John McGhee, Eddie McGhee, Walter B. McGhee, Eugene McGhee, Bertha Keith, Christine Curry, and Willie C Jenkins.
Marilyn is survived by her son Earl L Jefferson Jr. ; step-daughters, Fifi Loving, Cherron Pinkston Kimberly Burton and Merline Gordon; siblings Mansfield McGhee, Percy Jenkins, John Jenkins, Kenneth Jenkins, Mary Louise Evans, Georgia Holt, Maggie Welch, Margarett Barklay, Claudine Chapman, Earlene Smith, Earnestine Hentley, and Vera Booker; grandchildren Chykeiljah Jefferson, Markresha Jefferson, Eqwuan Jefferson, Sania Jefferson, Ja’Viere Jefferson, Zikeria Jefferson and Enaiz Jefferson and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Friday, 18th of March, 2022 at Shiloh Full Gospel Baptist Church 130 E. 2nd St. Masks and Social Distancing are required.
Interment at Mansfield Cemetery.

I enjoyed being with Marilyn, she was very great person. I loved hearing her play the piano and she could sing. I use to sing in her choir at church. Your mother was a blessed woman and I am praying for your family.

To Earl and her entire family. Marilyn became my very good friend after I joined the choir at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She would have me lead many songs and we called each other “Boo” She also loved my mac & cheese. My heart grieves for my friend but I know she is singing away in heaven because she was very spiritual. In prayer for you Earl and the family.

I remember Marilyn from my Mt. Hermon days. When she came and joined our choir our music changed. She was progressive and annoited with a fabulous voice. Thank you for the memories.
