Scott Maurice McGee, 42, of Columbus, Ohio, died on Monday, August 22, 2022, in hospice care after an unexpected battle with cancer. Born January 11, 1980, in Franklin County, he was the son of Dennis Charles McGee, Sr. and Christina Louise Hoosier (deceased).

For several years he labored as a factory worker. Scottie was an avid Ohio State football fan, and his greatest joy was when he could spend time with his growing children, brothers and extended family. He loved providing handyman services and wonderful company to aging family members, as well as sharing proud photos of the activities of his children.

Scottie is survived by his son, Nicari McGee (Killeen, TX) and two daughters, Jocelynn McGee Ferrell (Columbus, OH) and Demetria McGee (Dayton, OH); four brothers, Antoine Lee (Kendra) Hoosier of Columbus, OH, Dennis Charles McGee, Jr. (Columbus, OH), Justin McGee (Delaware, OH), and Omari McGee (Columbus, OH); three sisters, Keliah Walker, Syncere McGee and Anaya McGee of Columbus, OH; three surviving aunts, Zera Hoosier (Tony Allen) of Lorton, VA, Trula (Gary) Marcus of Los Angeles, CA, and Reva Hoosier of Lorton, VA; cousins, Deshaun (Nila), Candace (Daniel), Taylor (Tre), Sarah, Jordan, Amber, Samantha, Sidney, and Coltrane, and a host of other loving great aunts, great uncles and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Christina L. Hoosier (London, OH); grandparents, Ralph L. Hoosier (London, OH), Shirley A. (Wilson) Hoosier (Columbus, OH), Linnie McGee (Slidell, LA), Quincy Gordon (Laurel, MS); great grandparents, Mary McGee (Slidell, LA), and William Eldon and Gertrude (Byrd) Wilson (London, OH), Gus and Zera (Napper) Hoosier (London, OH); aunt, Vanessa (Hoosier) Harris (Inkster, MI); and cousins Kirstin Hoosier and Holland Marcus.

Visitation 9:00 AM and Funeral Service 10:00 AM Saturday, September 3, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E.
