Dwayne Anthony Birdsong entered the world in Columbus, OH on May 19, 1960, as the youngest child of Annie L. Birdsong and the late Earnest Birdsong.

In 1986, Dwayne made the bold move from Ohio to Atlanta, GA, where he ventured into cosmetology alongside his sister, Shirley Lanesa Birdsong. With time, he carved his own path, founding D’Anthony brand. Yet, his creativity transcended the beauty industry; he became a notable figure in entertainment promotion. Dwayne’s brainchild, Atlanta Talent Search, provided a platform for aspiring talents like Usher Raymond to shine. Beyond the limelight, Dwayne’s knack for home decor was celebrated, as he effortlessly
transformed spaces with his distinctive touch. His culinary prowess, especially his mouth watering lasagna, delighted family, and friends.

Upon his return to Ohio, Dwayne assumed the role of a devoted caretaker for his mother, Annie L. Birdsong, showering her with unwavering love and attention.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Birdsong; sisters, Shirley Lanesa Birdsong and Dollie Birdsong Thurman Holt, among others.

He leaves behind a legacy of fond memories cherished by his son, Dwayne A. Birdsong Jr.; his mother, Annie L. Birdsong; four brothers, Earnest Michael Birdsong (Gwendolyn) of Lithonia, GA, Terry Birdsong of Atlanta, GA, Craig Birdsong (Angie) of Norcross, GA, Ricky Birdsong of Columbus, OH; half-sisters, Kelly Glass, Amanda Sweeney, and Yolanda Hunt of Columbus, OH. Additionally, Dwayne’s aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends will forever hold him close in their hearts, honoring his enduring memory.

Memorial Service 7:00 PM Friday, March 15, 2024 at Deb’s Celebration and Event Center, 5508 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd).
