Elder Diane L. Robinson

Evangelist Diane Lucille (Brown) Robinson was born to John and Thelma Brown on Friday, June 4, 1948. She departed this life on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the age of 75 years.

In her early adulthood, Diane found her soul mate and married Elder Cordell Robinson; and in 1985, through adoption, a son, Cordell Lyle Robinson II, was added to this union. Diane was so proud of her son, and there was no one like “Cordy”.

It has been appointed that man must die and after death, to judgment, and the Lord has told us “….To be also ready, for you know not the hour that the Son of Man cometh”. Diane took note of that years ago when she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and united in membership with Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Faith Tabernacle (Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies,) where she was ordained into the ministry. She served her Church faithfully for many years as a minister, deaconess and in any other capacity as needed. Because Diane found salvation, she wanted to witness and lead others to the joy and satisfaction of a Christlike life.

She was so proud to share her testimony of life experiences and deliverance whenever and wherever she had the opportunity.

Diane and Elder Cordell were the founders of The Wings of Hope Foundation, which ministered to the homeless (men and women) and low- income families throughout the Columbus area.

Diane was very active in the community with the Homeless Shelters, Faith Mission and the Homeless Unsheltered. She received numerous awards for her untiring service to those in need; namely, The Presidents Call to Service Award for National and Community Service (2006), The President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, The President’s Volunteer Service Award for helping meet the community’s needs and the Phenomenal Women Inc Award (2009)

Diane is predeceased by her husband, Elder Cordell Robinson; parents, John and Thelma Brown; two sisters, Roberta Thurston and Frances Thurston and one brother, Walter Thurston.

Those who are left to celebrate Diane’s life and legacy and cherish her memory include: son, Cordell (Cordy) Robinson; Bonus Sons, Tim and Sean Robinson; Nieces, Rhonda Thurston, Vicky (Paul) Lewis, Pam (Michael Brody) McCauley; special niece, Victoria Michael; nephews, John (Lisa) Lawrence, Ronald Thurston; special nephew Bernard (Ricky) Thurston; Loyal and Best Friend, Deaconess Emma Douglas and a host of cousins, family and friends; including her Church Family.

  5. My sincerest condolences to family & friends. I’m just finding out about her passing by Google search because I had not seen her in a while. Diane was my neighbor and always claimed my dog, Monty, as her own. ☺️ She was very kind hearted and had a wonderful personality. She always told me she loved me. I will surely miss seeing her on our walks. May she rest in eternity. ️
