Evangelist Gilda M. Miller, a beloved member of the Unity Christian Fellowship Church, peacefully passed away on October 24, 2023, in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 77. Gilda was born on May 31, 1946, in Akron, Ohio, to her loving parents Jesse and Marie McWain.

Gilda dedicated her life to spreading the word of God and serving her community as an Evangelist. Her passion for preaching led her to minister in various ministries throughout the city, touching the hearts of many with her powerful sermons. She was a beacon of light and inspiration, bringing hope and faith to those she encountered.

Not only was Gilda a woman of great faith, but she also had a zest for life. She had a love for bowling and could often be found enjoying the sport with family and friends, creating lasting memories and laughter. Her warm and welcoming presence could light up any room, bringing joy to all those around her.

Gilda also had a talent for cooking and found immense joy in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. Gathering her family and friends around the table and sharing in the joys of a home-cooked meal brought her immense fulfillment and happiness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and son Marlon Mitchell, brother Ronnie McWain and sisters Inuke Mweane and Cherly Marie McWain.

Gilda is survived by her loving husband, Ernest Miller Sr. of 45 years and five months, her beloved sons, Ernest (Monique) Miller II and Oliver Lee Mitchell Jr.; as well as her brothers, Jerome (Joellen) McWain, Jesse L (Angie) McWain, Tommy (Oradell) Jackson; and sister in law, Marian McWain. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Eniya Miller, Monet Miller, and Isaiah L. Mitchell.

A celebration of Gilda’s life will take place at Unity Christian Fellowship Church 3833 Westerville Rd. on Friday November 3, 2023, at 11:00 am, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. The family will also receive friends at Wilkinson Funeral Service 1158 S. Arlington St. in Akron Oho on Saturday November 4, 2023, from 10am – 12noon followed by interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery.

In honor of Gilda’s profound impact on the lives of those around her, her funeral services will be an opportunity to celebrate her life, her unwavering faith, and the legacy of love she leaves behind. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
