Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you
unto myself, that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:1-3 KJV

Janice (Mann) Cook died unexpectedly on March 24, 2024, at the age of 64. Janice was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 12, 1959, to Willie B and Christine Mann. She departed this life on March 25, 2024.

Janice matriculated through the Columbus Public School system, graduating from East High School. Shortly thereafter, she met her future husband and the love of her life, Marvin Cook. They became the proud parents of 3 young ladies.

Janice united with Bethany Christian Church, Columbus, Ohio in 2013. Through her strong commitment to Jesus Christ and her testimony to God’s healing mercy, her husband, Marvin and daughter, Stephanie accepted Christ and joined her in the
ministry and work of the church. Janice rarely missed Wednesday night Bible Study and it was there that she became ill and later passed on March 25th. There was no better place that she could have been.

Janice was employed by the Spirit Services Company. After retirement she worked part-time for the Kroger Company. Janice and Marvin were foster parents for Franklin County Children Services for more than 10 years. They could be found on many Saturday mornings tending to the church and grounds, a labor of love. Janice had a bright smile and humorous demeanor. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, her family, and friends. Janice will be remembered as a kind loving, patient mother who encouraged her children to pursue their goals.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years. She leaves to mourn her lost, her mother, Christine Mann-Willis who will miss her daily phone calls and chats. She is the mother of 3 daughters and 4 granddaughters whom she leaves to cherish her memory, Jessica Cooks (James Owens), Ivorie Cooks, and Stephanie Cooks. She was the doting grandmother of Kaiden Owens, Terrione Woods, Kennedy Owens and Taelor Phillips. Janice is survived by three siblings, Gena (Johnnie) Phillips, Larry (Harriett) Mann, and Cynthia Mann.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Zeddie and Anthony Mann.

Family is a term that’s used when you have someone to love you unconditionally. I can never forget Janice shouting, “Amen” during Sunday worship, or always going to the alter having the pastor to continually watch over her and her family. To the Cooks, this journey that you’re on will not be an easy road to navigate, but if you remember all the ways, and all of the things Janice did in the name of Love and Family will make your journey a little less cumbersome. May GOD and HIS mercy continue to bless and keep this family during their time of mourning.
