Kelly Fontaine Brown was born July 5, 1970, she passed away at the age of 53, on September 22, 2023. Kelly was a delight to be around. Her presence was always known with a warm beautiful smile. Kelly affectionate personality, and selflessness allowed people to grow to love and admire her leaving a legacy of laughter, fierceness, love, and a lifetime of memories with her loved ones.

Kelly was born and spent her childhood in Wheeling West Virginia, relocating to Cleveland Ohio, spending her teenage years and graduating from Glenville high school, June 16, 1989. She gave birth to her only daughter Shakura Santana Brown in Wheeling West Virginia. Where she continued with her college studies. Kelly work ethic was impeccable. Anything she wanted to accomplish she did it with style and grace. Taking care of everyone around her. Always being someone to depend on to the ones she loved.

Kelly was a beloved grandmother to Lia Gomez Velazquez, Yazlynn Gomez, and Samara Gomez. Her grandbabies were her entire world. She loved them unconditionally and they brought joy and light into her life. She was the mother to Shakura Brown. The role she plays in her daughter’s life pushed her to excel in guiding and giving her daughter advice, support, all with great intentions, Love.

Kelly was the daughter of Dolores Jean Brown who held a special place in her heart. The sister of Edward Earl Smith. The niece of Diane Brown, Marsha Brown, Dwaine Brown, Alfonzo Brown, and Norma Jean Smith. Her niece, Elaina Smith; She also leaves behind a host of sisters, cousins, and cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Odella Lee Brown; aunt, Norma Jean Smith; cousins, Kartika Sari Brown, Tasha Smith.

Kelly Fontaine Brown will forever be missed in all our hearts. And our minds, will be flooded with sweet, hilarious, joyful memories. She was a Phenomenal Woman who embraced life and all its obstacles. Her smile and laughter lifted all our spirits. Her memory will live with us forever to those she loved. And those fortunate to have met an incredible soul.

Visitation 1:00 PM and Funeral Service 2:00 PM Friday, October 6, 2023 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd).
