Lillian A. Harris

main

Lillian Alfreda Harris was born July, 24 1937 to Irene “Chick” Harris and Clarence Harris, in Whipple, WV.

She comes from a large family with three siblings, Franceda Harris (NYC), Vera Harris (Detroit, MI); and her brother, Erroll “BoBo” Harris (Texas), left to succeed her.

She was a graduate of Dubois High School in Fayetteville, WV, then relocated to Columbus, OH, for better opportunities.

She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline “Queen” Harris.

She retired from Columbus Public School as well as from Limited Warehouse.

She has four grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Joseph, and her only granddaughter, Janea. She has seven great grandchildren, Justina, age 6, Justus, age 5, Justin, Jr., age 4, Joshua Robin, Jr., age 1, BreYa, age 8, King Joseph, age 1, and Carprina, age 11. She had three nephews, Fred Saunders, Mark Saunders, and Michael Saunders, whom she had an everlasting bond.

She was a pilar in her community and was known for sitting on her porch waving. She was always quick to help others. She’s been a resident in her area for over 30 years. She loved to listen to music and cook and entertain. If someone needed money, or a place to stay, she always had an open door. Although she had no home church, she had a heart that was filled with the love of God. Her main way of living, was, “Treat people how you want to be treated.”

Who knows our journeys that God puts us on, but I do know the journey my mother is on, is a mighty fulfilling enrichment of peace.

“I Love You, Pookie”
