Mrs. Linda Vivian Grace

Linda Grace

Linda Vivian Grace, a beloved member of the Mansfield community, was born on January 29, 1939, in Mansfield, Ohio. With deep sadness, we announce her peaceful passing on December 30, 2023, in Toledo, Ohio. Linda’s departure from this world marks the end of an era for her family and friends.

Linda, an extraordinary woman of African American heritage, was a pillar of strength, compassion, and dedication throughout her life. She was a loving wife to her devoted husband, Theodore Grace, for an incredible 65 years. Their union was a testament to the enduring power of love and commitment.

With an unwavering love for her family, Linda leaves behind her cherished daughter, Laurel (Douglas) Dollison; brother, Frank (Jeanie) Lawson and her adored grandchildren, Drake Dollison, Cohl Dollison, Clayton Dollison, and Jordan Grace. She found immense joy in sharing precious moments and creating lifelong memories with them. Linda’s family was her greatest source of pride and happiness.

Linda’s passion for her career as a Registered Nurse at Mansfield General Hospital spanned over 30 years. She dedicated herself to providing exceptional care and support to countless patients, embodying the true essence of her profession. Her kind and nurturing nature brought comfort to those in need, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

Never one to idle, Linda enjoyed a few hobbies dear to her heart. She loved fishing, sewing, and reading, and her hands skillfully crafted beautiful quilts. In the kitchen, she transformed every meal into a culinary delight, sharing her love through the flavors she created.

As a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church, Linda found solace and spiritual guidance in her community. Her devotion and commitment to her faith were unwavering, serving as an inspiration to all who knew her.

Linda was preceded in death by her loving parents, Thomas and Bessie Lawson; her beloved son, Mark Grace; her dear sister, Tomi Taylor. Their spirits will forever be intertwined with hers in the memories of those who loved her.

My personal condolences to Linda’s family.
I knew her son Mark and Linda as fellow workers at Mansfield Hospital (1968-2009). I met husband Ted at gatherings. It was Linda aka Grace that I worked closely with. I was in the personnel/HR Department screening potential new hires for her. She was a special nurse having the qualities admired by all.. She’ll be missed I’m sure!
Mr Cassity, as she called me.

  26. Sending my condolences to Laurie, Frankie and family. Linda and I, and our husband’s were friends for over 20 years, in fact Linda encouraged me to go to LPN School. I am forever grateful, because taking care of the babies and kids was my calling. Linda was a classy lady, but always spoke her mind. I think that Linda was one of the or the only black Head Nurses at MGH at that time. She was an Excellent nurse and was much respected by her staff and the Doctors alike. Farewell my friend, see you on the other side. Stay strong Ted. Love Hannah
