Richard Calvin Williams was born January 7, 1933, the third child of Charles E. and Dorothy A. Williams of Columbus, OH.

Richard attended and graduated from Marion Road School. He also attended South High School and was a member of the football and track teams.

Richard served in the US Army. After discharge, he was employed by Buckeye Steel Castings and Schottenstein Furniture which later became Value City Furniture. Upon retirement, he worked in the janitorial field for a few years.

Richard enjoyed watching all varieties of sports on television. He was also a member of the Hugh Garnes Memorial Club enjoying the annual club activities.

Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 31 years, Annie (Sue) Williams; parents, Charles E. and Dorothy A. Williams; brothers, Charles Williams, Jr., Robert Williams, Sr.(Rainey Williams); sister, Mildred Williams; nephews, Tab Williams, Robert Williams, Jr., Thomas Williams, Darryl Brown; and niece, Jacquelyn Allison.

Richard leaves to cherish his memory, sisters, Dorothy Brown, Virginia Williams, Phyllis (Ronald) Allison and an extended family of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation 11:00 AM and Funeral Service 12:00 PM Friday, April 12, 2024 at First Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 470 E. Welch Ave.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.

    Richard is my Stepfather since I was 14. He was a good natured man, generous and caring. He played football for South High School. He drove a delivery truck for Schottenstein’s Furniture. He was a loving husband, brother, friend and Grandfather. He was man I liked.
