McClendon

Ricky Antwan McClendon (41) was born on July 17, 1981, in Columbus, Ohio, to Vaynette McClendon and Ricky Allen. He went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2023.

Ricky attended Groveport City Schools and was a talented basketball player who loved sports. Ricky was a kind and loving person with a contagious smile. He loved to have a great time with family and friends, especially his son, Ricky Anthony.

He was preceded in death by infant son, Cortez McClendon, infant daughter, Shyenne McClendon, grandparents; Jesse Allen, Maxine Allen, Faye Edward McClendon, Sr., and James Smith, Sr.; uncles, Marty Allen and Jesse Allen.

In addition to his parents and step-father, Keith “Kazzy” Wilson, Ricky left many family members and special friends to cherish his memory, including his finance, Amanda Jobin, grandmother, Martha A. Smith, son, Ricky Anthony McClendon; brothers, Troy (Devyn) Hicks, Rashaun Love, Franco (Nettia) Calloway, and Isaiah Strain; sisters, Rickesha (Marshall) Sanders, Lashawna Love, Tineesha Allen, and Ashley (Albert) Watson; uncles, Faye Edward (Deborah) McClendon, Jr., Frank (Jodda) McClendon, Richard Reynolds and Kevin (Leigh) Allen; aunts, Linda Allen and Vickie Allen; a host of nieces, nephews, cousin; Rich Reynolds and special friends, Richard Reynolds Jr., Matt Steele, Brandon “T-Bone” McDougal, Nate “Phatz” Hodge, Brad McCarthy and Josh Seymour, and close friend; Josh Seymour

A celebration of life will take place on Monday, June 26, 2023, at Marlan Gary Chapel of Peace – 2500 Cleveland Ave, Columbus, OH 43211. Viewing will begin at 10AM and the service is from 11AM-12PM.
