SSG Steven Hudson Schultz Sr.

Steven Hudson Schultz Sr., a devoted family man, retired serviceman, and beloved member of the community, passed away on December 15, 2023, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on February 22, 1965, in Columbus, he was the son of Eugene Swanson and Betty Ann Schultz.

Steven proudly served and retired after 24 years from U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army National Guard . He fearlessly served his country during Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom, demonstrating unwavering dedication and bravery throughout his military career.

Outside of his military service, Steven was an active member of the World Conqueror’s Through Jesus Christ Church, finding solace and strength in his faith. His commitment to his church community was evident in his passionate involvement and continuous support.

Driven by his love for cars, Steven pursued his passion by establishing Godwin Logistics LLC, a car dealership where he poured his heart and soul into providing quality and reliable vehicles to his customers. His enthusiasm for his work was contagious, and his integrity earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Above all else, Steven cherished his family. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Bridget Schultz, and a caring and nurturing father to his two sons, Steven Schultz Jr. and Derek Townes. He reveled in the joy of being a grandfather to his three grandchildren, Carson Townes, Kennedy Townes, and Nariah Townes.

Steven leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion. His gentle demeanor and towering presence earned him the affectionate label of a “gentle giant” among those who knew him. His absence will be deeply felt by his surviving siblings, brothers Aaron Schultz and Royal Schultz, sister Monretia Crawford, as well as his extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Annette Swanson.

Dearest Stevie, you are one of the funniest, but one of the sweetest and most respectful man I’ve ever met in my life! You have always been good to me and I’m so glad I met you through Elise. It has been a long time since I’ve seen her talk to you until recently and when we hung out we hung out we had a bar and I’m glad I got to see you. I’m glad I finally got all social media so we can reconnect and we’ve literally messaged almost every day! You will be so dearly missed! Taking way too soon, but I know you are with your father in heaven and I know you’re still living your best life❤️ Love you miss you

  20. Steve was a uniques individual to say the least. I met Steve when we were much younger & he was a very different person. Even at that young age, he never knew a stranger & was a friend to all he met. Sometimes, to his own detriment. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Much love to the entire family. Little Stevie, I’m so sorry for your lose. Love you bunches & more than you can imagine.

  21. Rest easy Marine, see you on the other side.
