Mrs. Susie Ella Warren was born on July 3, 1935, to the late Richard and Susie Knox in Sparta, Georgia. She was the fourth of ten children born of their union. Susie fought the good fight until the Lord peacefully transitioned her home on February 25, 2024.

Susie put 100 percent effort into all her endeavors. Whether it was her education at New Green Springs A.M.E. Church School, where she was dubbed the smartest person in the county, or when she picked over 400 pounds of cotton per day.

When becoming an adult, Susie moved to Columbus, Ohio and worked as a chef in restaurants and as a day laborer. This is when she was introduced to the Ephesus S.D.A. Church where she met her future husband, Emmett Warren. They were united in holy matrimony in 1958. They were blessed with four children: Eureka, Van, McBryn, and Eunice. They were married for 15 blessed years before his sudden death in 1973.

Susie was gainfully employed in the retail cosmetics industry and in retail sales circulation. She was an avid gardener who was always willing to share the harvest with the community. She faithfully read and was well versed in the Scriptures.

The late Susie Ella Warren leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Eureka Hollis of Columbus, OH, Dr. Van Warren (Cleo) of South Euclid, OH, and Eunice (Terry) Pressley of Columbus, OH; bonus child, Catherine Chatman of Atlanta, GA; her grandchildren, Fredrico Evans, Andrew Hollis, Daniel Hollis III, Luchia (Nicholas) Prokos, and Isaiah Pressley; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also leaves to mourn her sister, Rosie Ellen Walker of Kissimmee, FL; sister-in-law, Willie Bell Knox of Sparta, Ga; brother-in-law, Horace Cobb, Sr. of East Stroudsburg, PA; daughter-in-law, Karen Warren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Susie was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Warren; her son, McBryn Warren; bonus children, Pearl (Joseph) Clay, Adell (Ruth Ann) Warren, Leroy Warren, Clinton Warren, Vernell (Willard) Hawkins, Dorothy Smith, Esther (Charles) Noble, Curtis (Alberta, Iona); sons-in-law, William Chatman and Daniel Hollis II; her parents, Richard and Susie Knox; siblings, Richard, Robert, Bonnie, Adam, Sim, Eddie Knox, Nettie Mae Cobb, and Nancy Stokes Culp (Jesse and Ulus).
