Teresa H. Carter took her flight on Friday, February 9, 2024.

Teresa H. Carter (Nee’ Howard) was born to Henry and Bertha Howard on August 27, 1954. She was born in Columbus OH. Teresa gave her life to Christ at an early age. She attended Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Teresa began her career at Ohio Bell and worked there many years before transitioning into an administrative position at Power of Faith Christian Center (Restoration Christian Center) before retiring. She sang in the choir and was ordained as an Elder of the church. She was a true evangelist and would tell anyone who would listen about her God.

Teresa loved most sports with basketball and football being her favorites. Her favorite teams were the Los Angeles Lakers, the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. but if you talked to her in the last few years you would think the only team she cared about was The Ball State Cardinals. She would plan doctor’s appointments around the game schedule so she could go see or watch her grandson on television. She also loved the game shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She watched every season of Survivor, Amazing Race and Big Brother.

Like most of the women in the Howard Family, Teresa loved to cook. Her most requested dishes were her peppered steak, pasta salad, potato salad, apple cake and sweet potato pie but on just a regular Tuesday, if you stopped by her house you would think it was Sunday dinner.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Bertha Howard; sisters, Debbie Goldston and Brenda Johnson.

She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Jeremiah Carter Sr.; children, Julia (Shawn) Chavis, Qiana Magwood; siblings, Melvin (Deanna) Howard, Christopher (Barbara) Howard, Cynthia Miller, Timothy (Shari) Howard, Sheila Howard, Timothy Williams; grandchildren, Marquez James, J’liyah (Ahmed) Bridges, Ja’Nelle Bridges, Qian Magwood.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM, Monday, February 19, 2024 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd).
