Terrance Jewell

JewellTerrance
Terrance, affectionately known as “Tank” was born to Joan Jewell and William P. Garner on September 1, 1976 at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.  As a young child, he attended Burnside Missionary Baptist Church and Vacation Bible School.  He attended Brookhaven High School and later went on to receive his General Education Diploma from the Ohio Department of Education.

During his early adulthood, Terrance went on to become a successful entrepreneur owning Jewell Trucking Company.  He was a member of True Love Ministries.  While being a son, father, and good friend, he found time to enjoy life by traveling, riding his motorcycle, playing chess, and socializing with friends and family.  He enjoyed attending get togethers, however, you could always count on him being tardy for the party!  He was loving and caring and enjoyed making others happy.  He was always willing to lend a hand or be there for friends and family.

We will miss Terrance’s playful personality, bright joyous smile, contagious laugh, and distinctive raspy voice.  We will forever cherish the footprints and memories that he left in our heart.

Terrance is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Ruby Jackson, Sr., andCarrie O. Garner; uncle, LaValle Garner; aunt, Doris Donald; brothers, William Pierre Garner and Joseph C. Jewell, Jr.; sister, Garthene “Sherre” Council; son, Terrance D. Jewell II; nephew, Joseph C. Jewell III; and cousins, Cezaray Garner, Carlos Garner, Curtis Martin, Sade Carrie Garner, and Keith Williams Jr.

Terrance is survived by his loving and devoted parents, Joan (Joseph, C, Sr) Jewell, and William Pierre Garner; brothers, Marchese Dotson and Antoine Dotson; children, Terrionna (Donnie) Brickerson, Ayana Hart-Hudson, Madison Bowers, and Mekhi Jewell; grandchildren: Jayonna, Lea, Dalila, and Kyra Brickerson, and Tyshawn Jewell; special mentions of the ones he loved as his own, Dasjah Wells, and Brooklynn Gunnell; great aunt, Ollie Bell Milliner of Dayton, OH; uncles, Jerrel Jewell, Terry Jewell, Keith Williams,  Robert (Jada) Jackson, Jr., Andre (Frankie Lynn) Garner of Atlanta, GA, and Stephen Garner; aunts, Diana (Terence) Jewell- Hudson, Wyuca Bradham of Stockbridge GA, Collette Garner, Alyce Fay Garner of Atlanta, GA,  many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including special cousins, Nikki Norris, Kushan Norris, Tia Johnson, Steven Moorehead, Shareef Jewell, Drelle Jewell, Curtis (Shaneata) Garner, Shalena Zeigler, and Patty Taylor-Watkins; and God sister, Arrica Scarver; and a host of other relatives and friends

I’ll never forget the first day he walked in Monroe Middle School. Big kool-aid smile with one gold tooth. He took me home that day, because we lived out West and he said I don’t ride the bus and you ain’t either. Until this day, I thought that was the most coolest thing ever. His own in 6th grade.
