Thomas Frederick Crockett, born June 10, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Liston and Emma Mae Thompson Crockett. He entered into rest unexpectedly and peacefully March 16, 2024 at the Ohio State University Wexner Center, surrounded by loved ones. He was affectionately called “Tommy” by his family and friends.

Tommy was a lifetime resident of Columbus. As a child, he loved to draw and paint. He was a great artist and painted murals in the school hallways at Linmoor Middle School. He continued his love of painting at Linden McKinley High School, and as an adult, continued to draw portraits of family and friends.

Tommy was considered a “ladies man”. He was generally dressed to the “nines” and always wore a suit when he attended church or a special occasion. When he turned his life over to God, he studied the Bible and could quote numerous scriptures. He loved gospel music and had a large collection as a young man. He never had the pleasure of children of
his own, but loved his nieces and nephews. He loved going to the movies with his nephew, G.K. – even though he talked through most of the movie! Tommy was a kind person and would go out of his way to help someone in need.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Liston Clay Crockett and Emma Mae Thompson Crockett; brothers, Leonard Eugene and Ronald O’Neal Crockett; brother-in-law, Garth Woodruff, Sr.; nephew, Tyrell Woodruff; paternal grandparents, Herbert and Nettie Crockett; maternal grandparents, Herbert and Charlie Nina Thompson.

Tommy leaves to cherish his memory, sisters: Deborah Maxine Jones, Crystal Woodruff, Kimberly Jackson, and Sandra (Theodore) Saunders; brothers, Ralph Steve (fiancée Tresha) and Timothy Clay Crockett; special friends, Sharlean “Hollywood” Lewis and Darryl “Sweet Pea” Martin; and Juliet Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family in Richmond, Indiana and Nashville, Tennessee.

Tommy will be fondly remembered and missed by his family and friends.

Visitation 1:00pm and Funeral 2:00pm Saturday, March 30, 2024 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
