I will never forget how you were so selfless that in your own pain and suffering, you called me regularly to check on me to see how I was doing, I saved those messages and play them over and over again. You will live forever in my memories and my heart and will cherish and love all the laughs and good times we had. You were always the life of the party making sure that everyone was having a good time. Though it was difficult to watch you suffer, I know that you did it to stay with your family for as long as you could. I promise that I will take care of your son and all the grandchilldren to the best of my ability and I know that on our wedding day, you will be right there by his side, I can only pray that we have the happiness and dedication and love that you and nanny had. I love you and will miss you forever, Rest in peace Papa!

  11. Kindness, care, concern, compassion, loving and devoted…these are the words that I use to describe my uncle, Joseph Richard Woodford. I knew him as Ricky.

What I cherish most about him was his dedication, adoration and devotion for his beautiful wife Linda and their family. It was always obvious to me that they truly loved each other and that they enjoyed being together. The last time I saw them, they were together. He was recovering from being in the hospital and they were telling stories, completing eat others sentences, laughing and reminiscing. There was a lot of joy in that room, a lot of respect. I could see and feel how comfortable they were together and that they had cherished each other for a long time.

How refreshing and inspiring to see a married couple who had been together for such a long time—back to school days, who still liked each other, whose love was so out there and apparent for anyone to see…it was awesome! The respect, devotion and joy of being together lasted thru- out their marriage!

They both spoke lovingly and positively of their children. Their love encircled and enriched their family. Kristin, Monica & Lil Rick are very blessed to have grown up in a compassionate family knowing, without a shadow of doubt, that they were cherished and valued by their father…. and their mother.

Ricky was blessed with many talents. He combined the gifts of story-telling, the gift of laughter, his ability to connect with people, his love of music… to create a career that he enjoyed and was excited about! With his talents he was able to bring joy into the lives of others with enthusiasm!

I think it was his enthusiasm and his positivity that made him so like-able. He was someone that you wanted to be around because being around him made you feel better. He had the amazing gift of being able to connect with people and to leave them feeling good about themselves and smiling.

Joseph Richard Woodford, you have left the physical world. I will not forget you. I carry in my heart and in my mind as do so many, many others whose hearts and minds you have brightened.

We remember you, we cherish you and we are smiling because you blessed us with your joy and laughter, with love and compassion.

    with love,
    terra omni

  13. My deepest sympathies are with the family. Mr. Woodford was an amazing individual. He was always so kind and a loving family man. He had a heart as big as gold and always made me feel so special and loved. I was truly blessed to have known him. He will be loved and missed forever.

  14. What can I say about my daddy but that he lived a "es;simple"es; life… in that he was simply magnificent – in his stature, in his walk, in his countenance, in his voice. He was simply dedicated – to mama, to us as his kids and to his grandkids, to his job, to his relationship with God, and to the Cleveland Browns, who he never gave up on, though many thought he should have. (Don't worry, Daddy, we will keep hope alive, won't we Rick?) He was simply artistic – creating drawings, paintings, and poetry that were beautiful expressions of his creative mind. He was wise, full of counsel. He was intelligent, kind, and sweet. He was simply the best…

So sorry for your loss, your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

  21. My prayers and love are Mom, Rick and the whole family. Dad was a very special man.. We are all blessed by having a Special Angel watch over us now.

“You can shed tears that he is gone,

or you can smile because he has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back,

or you can open your eyes and see all he's left.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see him,

or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,

or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her only that he is gone,

or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind,

be empty and turn your back.

Or you can do what he'd want:

smile, open your eyes love and go on.”

    With Love,
