Robert loved people. In 1980 he met Gloria Burke and her two daughters Jomala at the age of 4 years old and Janee 6 months old. He raised them and their grandchildren DaZhane (Miss Pookie), Janayzha, Mikayla and Jade. There was something special about Robert that made everyone feel welcome.
Robert was a very meticulous person who loved fashion and the Dallas Cowboys. He was gifted with his hands and held numerous jobs over the years. He began his work career as a young man shining shoes on the street. At the age of 18 he started working at Lazarus and from there he worked at Smith’s Transfer Co. and Buckeye Steel until the both companies closed.
