Minister Annie P. Carreker was born in Lagrange, GA on March 9, 1936. She departed this life on December 16, 2018.She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie B. Morgan, and Willie Morgan; brothers, Eugene Morgan Sr., James Morgan, and John Morgan; sister, Helen Hort; sister in law, Virginia Morgan; and brothers in law, Alger Boone, James Paschal, and Leroy Heath.She was a graduate of Central High School. She later married her husband, Walter Carreker, and they had six children. She worked for Columbus Public System and Franklin County Welfare Department, which she retired in 1983.Minister Carreker was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. She also served at Second Shiloh Baptist Church. She served her remaining years at First Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member serving on the Missionary Board and Nurse’s Association.Minister Carreker accepted the call to minister the Gospel on June 1, 1997. Until she felt ill, she conducted Bible Study at Nazareh Tower weekly until she departed. She left to cherish her memories, sons, Virgil, Alphonso (Kimberly), and Vincent (Susan); daughters, Judy (Mike), Tammy (Franklin), and Tina; sisters, Johnnie May Boone, and Willene Paschal; 23 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; God sons, Minister Shawn Harding, Minister Troy Shaw, and Minister Cameron Harris; and special God daughter, Joy Dunlap.
