Arthur Ford Photo

Arthur Edward Ford Jr., known as “AJ” or “Ford” aged 67, gazed upon his last sunset August 20, 2023. He was born on November 21, 1955, in Charleston, West Virginia to Arthur Edward Ford Sr. and Burdell Constance Davis. AJ served in the U.S. Army. AJ was a resident of Columbus, Ohio and a proud 1973 graduate of Linden McKinley High School and attended Columbus State Community College. AJ worked many jobs around the city but was most fond of driving trucks.

Many can say that AJ never met a stranger. He was a friend to all and extended his hand of kindness to many in need. He was very outgoing in his community and loved classic cars, camping, traveling and watching his favorite westerns and WWE wrestling on tv with his family. If you knew AJ, you knew that his family meant the world to him. AJ had a beautiful smile and upbeat sense of humor. He always had the ability to make anyone smile and laugh.

AJ is preceded in death by his parents and his son Arthur IV. AJ is survived by his wife, LaTasha, sisters Alfreda (Christer) Rundle, Carolyn Jeffries and Mary Ann Dortch. God brother Gordon Ford. Children (in order by age) Arthur III, Shandel, Lakeesha (Cecil) Austin, Takeesha, Josephine, AJ, Stephon, Brooklyn, Iman, Arthur G, Journey and Princess. Beloved grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Family, friends and others are invited to the Marlan Gary Chapel of Peace North Chapel located at 2500 Cleveland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43211 on Friday, September 1, 2023. Family will start receiving visitors at 1:00p.m. and service starting at 2:00 p.m. to reminisce and celebrate the life of Arthur Edward Ford Jr. (AJ)

  2. It is much sadness that I learned that Arthur passed. My heart is heavy…Arthur and I went to Linden McKinley HS together and with all of our high school friends had a ball while we were there. Arthur was a lot of fun..I will always remember the kidding, teasing and fun we shared.
