Barbara Jean Young Briggs, 71, transitioned this life on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Ohio Health Hospital, Mansfield, Ohio after an extended illness.

Barbara never complained as she continued trusting in the Lord with her husband Willie J. and family members by her side.

Mrs. Briggs was born on Friday, February 2, 1951 to the late Aaron G. Sr. and Lorine L. VanBuren Young in Mansfield, Barbara was a lifetime resident. Christmas was one of her favorite holidays where she would put one of her many talents to use like baking. She always baked and decorated the best cookies. Barbara loved to buy African American art which she displayed elegantly throughout her home. She usually purchased extra art to give as gifts. Barbara started working at a young age and earned an Associate Degree from North Central State College. She spent most of her working days working with money and organizing. Barbara was last employed with MBIE in Mansfield. Although she retired, she continued to work at home for herself. Until Barbara took her last breath, she continued to live by one of her favorite chapters in the Bible Proverbs Chapter 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not into your own understanding.
