Charlene Reed affectionately known as “Nanny” was born on January 29, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio to Pearl Williams and Thomas Howard.

Charlene attended the Columbus Public School system and graduated from Central High School and later received her Associate Degree in Medical Assisting from Central Community College.

Charlene was introduced to church at an early age and was a faithful member of the House of God and served as the Secretary for the Elect Lady Hannah Bottoms.  She rededicated her life and became a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.

Charlene was a very smart, sassy, and classy lady.  Her radiant and warm personality naturally drew people to her.

Charlene truly treasured her family.  Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, laughing, dancing, watching western movies and playing cards.

Charlene is predeceased by her parents Pearl Williams and Thomas Howard; husbands, Emmett Reed and William L. Harris; brothers, Theodore Baker and Robert Phipps and sister, Leona Palmer.

Charlene leaves to cherish her memories, beloved daughter, Pastor Arlene Kimberly Harris; grandchildren; Monika Willis, Shernika (Lemont) Fountain, Tanika (Kwasi) Holder, Lyndsy (Alassondro) Roberts; great-grandchildren; Imani Jacobs, Aaron Thomas III, Nia-Symone Branham, Jeremiah Walters, Major Davis, True Holder, Kimaya Holder, and Kamryn Fountain; brother, George Williams; sister, Norvell Howard and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and her Trinity Baptist Church family.

Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00pm Monday, September 20, 2021 at Trinity Baptist Church, 461 St Clair Ave.

Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
