Derehl Marcellus Dumas was born January 12, 1988. He attended Brookhaven High School where he played football. Derehl loved his children and his family. There was a brotherly love that no one could deny.

Derehl was very adventurous and was not afraid to try new things. He was the type of person that did what he wanted, when he wanted, no matter what others thought of him.  He loved the Ohio State Buckeyes. Derehl was a jokester.

Derehl is preceded in death by his father, Darryl Dumas; brother, Shawndel Woods; son, Amari; daughter, Deriyah; paternal grandparents, James and Rebecca Weeden; and maternal grandfather, Ralph Jones.

Derehl is survived by his mother, Sylvia Hoskins; step father, Tony Hoskins; brother, Terrance Woods; sons, A’Tavion and Kaden; daughters, Derehauna and Taylor; niece, Ta’jae; nephews, Delshawn and Tre’jon; brother in love, Cobre Gordan; step brother, Tony Hoskns, Jr.; step sisters, Latorya, Shavon, Kiera (Indianapolis, IN), Tamar (Columbus, OH), and Angel (Georgia); aunts, Sheryl Fields, D’Andra Woods, and Dana Woods (all of Columbus, OH; maternal grandmother, Florence Woods; 101 sisters and brothers from other mothers; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Derehl will be sincerely missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00pm Thursday, June 3, 2021 at New Generation Church, 1173 Essex Ave.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park
