In his early years, Ed was a star basketball player, where he attended North High School. After high school graduation, Eddie attended college in California where he recieved his B.S. degree. While missing his family, he returned to Columbus, Ohio and received a managerial position working for the State of Ohio. Eddie enjoyed working with the youth of Ohio.

Eddie’s memory will leave an imprint on the hearts of many of his Best Friends and Family members: Tommy Bowman (Brenda), William Spencer, Reggie Kellogg, Skip Young, David Reed, Mark Yonley, Walt Stewart, Shonda Levy, Marilyn Banks, Betty Hochard (BJ) and Joe Roberts.

Eddie was a loving son to his parents. He was helpful in so many ways while seeing to the family needs being met. Eddie enjoyed attending Union Grove Baptist Church and Maynard Avenue Baptist Church with his family members.

Anyone and Everyone who knew Eddie, knew he was a gracious man with a kind spirit and a warm heart. There are no words to express how much his sister, Janis (Clark) Ridley and other Clark family members will miss his joyful presence, especially his laughter, and most of all, his picture taking, whether at family reunions or just visiting family members in their homes. His camera was his sidekick.

We miss you my Brother, but we know you are at home with our Father in Heaven now. “Rest in Peace”.

  1. Hattie Liz Mcdonald

Sorry for the loss of your family member Eddie Clark. Co worker of BWC State of Ohio

    • Rest easy Eddie….he was my first supervisor when I worked as a student at the BWC. He and my mother Evelyn Street were really close.

  2. Dr. John Tooson

My heart is aching from the loss of my friend and brother Eddie Clark. Eddie and I have been connected since my early days with the Industrial Commision of Ohio and where Eddie was a Director at BWC. I was honored by Eddie being a part of my wedding. We also enjoyed our times roller skating in Columbus and other cities around the state. So much fun and so many opportunities for Eddie and I to enjoy the things we had in common. We even share the same birthday. In the early days when Eddie’s baseball team would play in Davey Moore park, Springfield, we would have a cookout for the players whether they win or loss because the park was in my backyard. So many memories I cannot mention all of them here, but he has always been in my life as a true friend and he will be greatly missed. My condolences go out to the family of Eddie Clark.

  3. My deepest condolences to the family.

  4. Condolences to the Clark family. Coach Clark was my high school basketball and track coach at Independence High School between 2005-2009. He made every practice enjoyable with his energetic and positive attitude. He was loved by everyone – a truly kind and loving person. Praying for all of his family and loved ones during this time.

  7. My condolences to the Clark family. My affiliation with Eddie was on the basketball trails of Columbus Recreation Leagues…we were always opponents yet friends due to his kind ways. He was a great player but an even better human being. May he Rest In Peace. Dan Hoffman, 1967 graduate of South High School and career educator at Reynoldsburg City Schools.

  8. My sincere and deepest condolences to Eddie Clark’s family. Eddie and I attended North High during the same period of time. May the Grace and Peace of God be with his family during this period of time.

  9. Eddie and I were team mates at North high school ~ coming one win short of an undefeated season and the state basketball title. We had great fun after North traveling to West Virginia, New York and other cities playing ball. Eddie was a natural athlete, he could swim, skate, high jump and quick as a dear. Because I lived closer to North he often ate dinner and hung out at my house before games after school. I will miss Eddie, his laugh, and his playful attitude. Eddie is with the Lord.

  10. Michele Street

On behalf of Evelyn Street, and family we would like to send our condolences and prayers. Eddie was a great friend to our mother Evelyn Street and made many visits with her when she became ill, he was a very kind man and treasured friend. Out prayers to you and your family.

  12. The Mathis family will miss Eddie Clark tremendously but is truly blessed to have known him. He has always been like a family member to us and have stepped in to be there for my two girls, Tiffany and Trina, as well as my grandson, Tyler. Words cannot express all that he has meant to us but we will cherish all the acts of kindness, the funny and joyful times, the words of wisdom and so, so many things that Eddie shared with us. He also has done so much for the community and youth in Columbus and other cities. We send our sincere condolences to the family and friends and will continue pray that the love of God will continue to carry you throughout the days, months and years ahead. Sending hugs to all.

  13. I am a 1958 graduate of North High. I have fond memories of Eddie’s great basketball career, especially a driving basket right past the great Jerry Lucas in the ’58 state semifinal where Lucas and Middletown HS’s 78 game win streak was ended by Eddie and the Polar Bears. As a Christian, I am gratified to read of his devotion to his church. May the blessings of God bee on his family.
