Erica Marie Barnes, 55, was born May 22, 1965 in Columbus, Ohio to the late James and Antoinette Ethel Braford Barnes, passed into eternal life January 1, 2021, at Mount Carmel East Hospital.
Erica attended Columbus Public Schools and graduated from Marion-Franklin High School, where she was a member of the Marionettes Drill Team.
Erica was raised in the Catholic faith and periodically visited St. Dominic’s Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching professional sports, and had a passion for different types of food. Erica also enjoyed listening to various gospel artist.
Erica was preceded in death by her parents James and Antoinette Barnes, Sister, Stacy Williams two brothers Byron Barnes and Juan Barnes.
Erica leaves to Cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Schauna Antoinette Ladd, son, Devin Lamar Hillmon, eight grandchildren, Tealiah, Janiya, DeVin, Keyondria, Lamar, Julius, Jillar, and Jikel, two brothers, Michael (Rhonda) Barnes, Mark Barnes, three sisters Jessica Burkhart, Leslie Barnes, and Alison Barnes, Cousin, Bryan Bradford, special sister Angie Massey Barrett.
Erica leaves a special friend Ernest Jefferson and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Erica’s lingering smile, sense of humor and witty personality will be missed by everyone.
