Ernest Conner III was born along with his twin sister, Erma on March 27, 1962, to the late
Ernest and Lottie B. Conner, Jr. After a long courageous battle with heart disease, he departed
this life on March 21, 2023, at 3:45 a.m. with his wife Dianna by his side.
Ernest was raised in Columbus, Ohio and attended Columbus City Public Schools. After
completing his formal education, graduating from East High School in 1980, he went to work at
Dafabco. Ernest always had an entrepreneurial spirit and begin doing small carpentry work to
supplement his family income.
On December 13, 2008, Ernest married Dianna Lynn Brice. The two enjoyed traveling together
and often joined their close friends, John (deceased) and Cheri Carter and Howard and Cynthia
Johnson. The couples were known to pick a destination, jump in the van and go. Together the
“Travel Gang” spent 15 years making 22 trips across the United States. Ernest’s favorite trip
was to New Orleans. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, grilling, playing cards and being with his
family. There was no better place to be on July 4th than at the home of Ernest and Lynn Conner
for family, food, and fireworks.
In 2021, Ernest joined Gospel Lighthouse Church, immediately giving his life to Christ. Ernest
began to attend church regularly until his health began to decline. He will be missed. He is
proceeded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lottie B Conner, Jr.; Brothers, Victor, and Robert;
Sisters; Brenda Conner, Earnestine Johnson and Debra Conner.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Dianna Conner; Sons, Shawn Jones, Evan Conner and
Ernest Christian; Daughters, Tamika Jones, Shenika Johnson, Monika Taylor, Ebony Bruce, and
Shamya Conner; Brothers, Donald (Cathy) Conner; Sisters, (Twin) Erma Conner, Penny
Conner, Crystal (Marlon) Saunders, Glendora (fiancé Horace Griffith), Victoria Conner,
Marcella Conner, Shelia Conner, Denise Foster, Toni (Clayton) Dean. Seven grandchildren;
Malik, Oliviyah, Jalen, Amarah, Qalel, Kendal, Icelyin and the expected birth of twin
grandchildren in August 2023. Best friends, Fitsum B. and Ronnie Cooper.
Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday, March 31, 2023 at Gospel Lighthouse, 600 Frebis Ave.. Interment at Evergreen Burial Park. Ministry of Comfort entrusted to MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
