Experience and Share Love

February is the “Love” month, as well as Black History month.  How do you plan on showing and sharing love this month?  For starters, take a little extra time to say hello, and smile at others in passing. You never know just how much a little love can mean to someone else. Love is a verb; an action word, it is giving, meaning that you have to do something to share it. Love produces action; when love is present it will be seen.

In honor of Black History month, I chose two of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s quotes, which are very phenomenal statements relevant to our theme. “ I have decided to stick with Love, hate is too much of a burden to bear.” “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only Love can do that.” Both of these quotes help describe the importance and magnitude of showing love. Dr. King strived for the freedom and equality of Blacks. He fought a peaceful battle founded upon Love. Though very difficult for most people to do, Dr. King believed that one day the sacrifice of giving love would eventually pay off. In every situation that we face, we too should be able to incorporate love to make that situation better.

Love never fails! I am so excited about this. In life, things and people tend to let us down; or fail us. Relationships fail, friendships fail, businesses fail, etc. Love blooms in the midst of ugliness. Build your life’s foundations on love, for love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13 is the Love chapter in the Bible. It describes the many attributes of Love. Love is patient, love is kind, love beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, and endureth all things. This chapter ends in stating that, “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. The greatest of these is Love”. We can never out live love, for love never dies. When we feel overwhelmed, defeated, and hopeless, know that Love will not crumble in times of difficulties. How amazing is this!

In conclusion, let’s all make a conscious decision to show love not only through the month of February; let’s carry it out through the remainder of the year. Have a mindset to love and say to your self, “today I chose love”. Demonstrate love in you thoughts, words, and actions. Watch how it changes your focus and perception throughout the day. Let God’s love shine through you. The power of Love is limitless! Remember a loved one who has passed away by writing them a love letter describing the wonderful memories that you have shared in the past. Share your experience with us on love and how is has impacted your life positively. We look forward to hearing from you.
