Inez (Robinson) Swann was born to Channie Robinson on November 30, 1925, in Elkhorn, Maybeury, McDowell City, WV. She moved to Columbus, Ohio when she was 3 years old. Inez attended Pilgrim Elementary, Champion Middle and East High Schools before moving back to West Virginia. Inez married the love of her life, Edward W. Swann in 1947. The first if seven children were born in 1951, the last was born in 1958. She was an avid, all sports fan and she played softball as a left-handed pitcher with the Women’s Softball Team in Windsor Terrace, Columbus, Ohio 1959-1962. During her work career she was a highly sought after chef and later as a part time domestic worker while raising her children. Inez loved having fun which included gardening, dancing, cooking, cards, puzzles, entertaining and caring for her family. She was a great supporter of her grandchildren’s activities, and even in these last 2 years attended many of her grand, great grand, and her great-great grand children’s events!!

Inez was preceded in death by her husband Edward W. Swann, Sr., Mother Channie (Robinson) Early, Aunts Waxie Hill, Lois Mitchell, and Geneva Red; Uncle Skidmore Robinson; sons Edward, Jr. and Gary Michael, cousins Cleo (Mitchell) Person and Dorsey Mitchell. Inez leaves to cherish her memory her children Audrey (Swann) Person, Vivian (Swann) Medley, Mary Maxine, Jeffery (Elizabeth) and Donna (Swann) Fairfax, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren plus her beloved Suga-Suga Serenity McLennan. One cousin Aaron Mitchell, special friend Ella Mae Hairston; Family (WV.); many others who have come to know and love her.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Thursday, August 10, 2023 at First Church of God , 3480 Refugee Road.

Interment at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.

She always had the right words to say when you needed encouragement. She had the same attributes as Aunt Channie. Loved them dearly. They both are missed .
