Jean A. Howard

Jean Howard Main photo 2

Jean was born August 9, 1952, to her loving parents Fred Grant and Roberta Francis Howard in Lima, Ohio where she served and was member of the Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church under Rev. E.D. Broyles.

Jean completed her formal education with the Lima Senior High class of 1974, where she stood at the top of her academic class, while partaking in a host of activities. Her passion for social interaction and participation was always present; and perfection was her forte’ … Jean would often remind us about her Cheerleading Roots – Making sure she informed everybody ‘she wasn’t just a Cheerleader BUT THE CHEERLEADING CAPTAIN….

As a young girl, Jean was very smart and was a master pianist who often entertained our family with her talent. She chose Historically Great Kentucky State University “Thorobreads / Thorobettes” as her college of choice, following in the footsteps of both of her parents … After graduating with honors, Jean was immediately offered a position in Cincinnati, Ohio with the Johnson & Johnson group out of Washington DC. as a Marketing Representative.

After several years of service to one of the 1st and only Black Owned business in America, Jean relocated to Detroit Michigan with her Sister Friend/Roommate Trina to pursue a career in Public Education. Jean dedicated 30 years educating youth in the Detroit City school system between Lessenger Middle School and Central High School before retiring.

Jean so Loved her Family! Watching the kids grow up and making sure everyone felt love from her (on every occasion); was her passion…  She will be missed on Someone’s Morning’ Someone’s Afternoon and Someone’s Evening…

Jean was preceded in in death by her parents, Fred and Roberta Howard and her loving sister Ladonna Marie Bell-Durley. She is also survived by our Family Matriarch: Carolyn Allen of Lexington, Kentucky.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her brothers Paul Thomas Howard, Steven Edward Howard (Both of Columbus, Ohio) her sister Valerie Denise Howard (Columbus, Ohio) and brother William Dotson Howard (Halena) Denver, Colorado. Jean also leaves to cherish children of the heart Toni Thompson of Lima, Ohio & Cynthia Thompson of Oakland, California.  Jean leaves to cherish nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
