Joseph Louis Franklin, Jr., affectionately known as Joey, was born on October 21, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio to Barbara Franklin Rowland and Joe Louis Franklin. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
Joey attended South High School and was active in the marching band until graduating in 1978. Upon graduation, he attended The Ohio State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice in 1985.
Joey was employed at the Linden Library on Cleveland Avenue for many years. During his employment there, he was sent all over Ohio and surrounding states working on computers and whatever else needed to be done.
Joey had a love for music and traveling. He was a quiet person, but he loved to smile, his family and he never met a stranger. When people met him, they were instantly drawn to him because he was just that kind of person.
Joey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Guy (Beulah) Morris and Oscar (Jimilee) Franklin; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joey leaves to cherish his memory is his mother, Barbara (Roy) Franklin Rowland; father, Joe Louis Franklin; aunts, Alfreda (Fready) Simmons of Nashville, TN., Wanda Williams of Columbus, OH, Janice (Gary) Jones of Columbus, OH and Valerie (Dolphus) White of Columbus, OH, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH 2500 Cleveland Ave.
Interment at East Lawn Cemetery.
