Let’s talk about a strong, independent, vibrant, com-passionate, humorous, and caring role model born to Roberta Jenkins and Kevin Edwards on May 4, 1976 in Columbus, Ohio. February 13, 2020, Jowana Jenkins ascended to the next phase of spirituality, following a brief illness.

Born the first child of four, the only daughter. After graduating from Independence High school in 1994, she cofounded “Black Pearl Catering LLC”! She then went on to pursue her own business which would later be established as Salon Consultants LLC in 2003.

She was an indigenous woman who was diligent in business, who aspired to conquer every dream and was focused to a place of no return. A woman who took pride in her heritage, an elite member of the Black Panther Party, a community leader who embodied her role as CFO of the Osmasa Tribal Nation.

She leaves behind to cherish her precious memories; spouse Felicia Pearl, daughter KiYanna Miller, and granddaughter Aaryanna Hamilton, also a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00pm Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

    This is Shaune Harris. Jowana’s’ friend who has cancer. Remember I came down and stayed at your house, and I seen you a few years ago at her house. I am just finding this out. My God. I had no clue she was even ill. I am so sorry for your lose. Jowana was your baby and I know you are hurting. If she was sick, she’s not sick anymore. She is where WE want to be. Trust that You will see her again. God has you in favor Mrs, Jenkins, God has you in favor. I pray that Jowana watch over us until we meet again.
