Karyn Jones-Wright was born in Weirton, West Virginia to the late Mary Francis (Lyles) and John Jones Sr. on September 30, 1953.
She lived a beautiful life with a beautiful soul until she departed this life on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.
She worked and retired as a Payroll Supervisor at Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS). There she gained many wonderful friends whom she considered to be “family”.
Karyn was a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Lakers. She also loved to SHOP and travel. She was a loving Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She loved laughing and being with her friends. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Karyn is preceded in death by her parents; Mary Francis (Lyles) and John Jones Sr., brothers; Charles Perry and Robert Gilchrest.
Karyn leaves behind to forever cherish her loving memory, loving Husband; Leonard Wright Jr., sons; Dante Enoch (Shalonda) and Marcus Thompson Sr., daughter; Danielle Enoch, sisters; Darci Perry, Sheila Broomfield (Curtis), and
Alliece Harris, brother; John Jones Jr. (Tayonnia) along with a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She loved and cherished her grandchildren; Dante Enoch, Marcus Thompson Jr., Kimbryn Thompson, Marquise Thompson and Mia Thompson.
Visitation 5:00 PM and Funeral Service 6:00 PM Saturday, April 22, 2023 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd).

She was much more than my godmother, I can’t recall a single moment in my life that she wasn’t there. I could count on her every year calling me on my birthday no matter what was going on…I never told her how much she meant to me, never got to say how much I loved her, never had the chance for that last birthday lunch (despite the numerous times she attempted to get together) but knowing she’s finally at peace brings a calmness over me knowing that she’s with God and all those things I never got to do don’t seem to hold as much weight anymore.
