Kevin Eugene MacCartney, 66, of Mansfield, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 16, 2023 at the home of his sister and caregiver, Soni R. Collins. He was born April 3, 1957 in Gary, Indiana. Kevin completed his Education at Richland Newhope School. He had an amazing personality, contagious smile and loved all that came into his life. He was fascinated with cars and keys.
Kevin is survived by two brothers, Robert (Shana) Morant , Columbus, Ohio and Mark Morant of Delaware, Ohio; two sisters, Soni (Ron) Collins and Lisa (Anthony) Benson both of Mansfield, Ohio; eleven nieces and nephews, Megan Collins, Shante Collins, Devyn (Morgan) Benson, Donovyn (Jamie) Benson, Taylor (Ruben) Wallace, BJ Morant, Jade Morant, Sydney Morant, Maya Morant, Makayla Morant, Mollie Morant; nine great nieces and nephews, Myia, Adyen, Danielle, Aaliyah, Aryia, Ashlyn, Ezekiel, Bellah, Angel; and special cousins that were more like siblings, Donald Bucher, Sandy Bucher Powell and Brenda Bucher and a host of additional cousins, family and friends.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Leda Morant, maternal grandparents, A.E. “Gene” and Clara Summers, a maternal aunt, Sandra Bucher, a great nephew, Aiden Collins and a great niece, Izzabella Robles.
Family will have a private Celebration of Life service, Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in lieu of flowers please send donations to Hospice of North Central Ohio. Kevin, thank you for all the days you’ve made brighter just by being you, there have been more of them than we could count. Thinking of the good life you’ve lived and the great times we’ve shared, you have truly been a blessing in our lives and for that we will always be grateful.
