Leon Dameron Jr. was born September 16, 1955 to Leon Dameron, Sr and Bernice Louise Harris Wilson.

Leon joined the Navy in 1973 with the last assignment being in Great Lakes Illinois. After leaving Columbus in the early 80’s Leon lived a number of years in California where he got the name “Pony Tail”.

Leon was the oldest of 5 children and preceded in death by his sister the late Tressie Dameron.

Leon tried to live every day to the fullest while also constantly saying he wanted to make his parents proud. Leon also accepted Christ before he transitioned.  You put up a good fight dad, although our hearts weren’t ready, we know you were tired. Rest Well “Pony Tail”.

Leon leaves mourning, his children, Terra Person, Carla Bridges, Bernice Brooks, Evelyn Dameron, Christina Dameron, LeAnita Dameron, Leon Dameron III, and Leondre ; sisters, Lesley Dameron, Annette Dameron, and Cheri McCoy; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Leon will be truly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

I pray that the Lord will give special memories of my beloved cousin to his loved ones and friends. May we all rejoice in our hearts and know that we will see him again.     Will always hold a very special place in my heart cousin Leon. We grew up together with our Mom’s raising each of us with the heart of surrogate mom’s knowing that it took a village to raise a child. RIP ☹️ dear cousin.
