Mr. David Craig Parsons

main

David was a lifelong resident of Mansfield, Ohio residing on E. Arch St. all of his life.

He attended Malabar High School, graduating in the class of 1986.

David was a multi-sport athlete for the Falcons, playing football, basketball and also running track. Following graduation, David attended Ashland University where he continued his football career for 2 years before joining the workforce.

David was an avid sports fan. Anyone who knew him, knew that he enjoyed watching and cheering for his favorite University of Michigan Wolverines Football Team (Go Blue) and following the New York Giants in the NFL. David loved the football atmosphere. When he attended games at stadiums, one of his favorite things to do was pull up in his vehicle with food and drinks for the ultimate tailgate! He was high spirited and also very competitive. His love for weightlifting, earned him the nickname of “Big Dave” because he bulked up from lifting. In addition to sports, David loved to travel; especially taking road trips, driving across the United States to California, where he would visit with family. Becoming a fan of Martial Arts, he began collecting rare 4-star artifacts as a hobby.

David was a very respectable young man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. It could be something as simple as giving a ride, cutting someone’s grass, or lending them a couple of dollars. He always made himself available to assist anyone in need.

David leaves to cherish his memories 3 aunts; Rita Dulin, Columbus, OH., Carolyn M. Catchings (Kary, Jr.), Trotwood, OH., and Marietta Thomas, Kettering, OH., 3 uncles; Melvin McDowell, (Dovie), Akron, OH, Wyatt McDowell, (Sherry), Douglasville, GA. and Harrison McDowell (Delores), Mansfield, OH., cousins and friends.

One thing that is memorable about David; He had what we call a “special talent”. He had a “knack” for remembering birthdays of his friends, family or people he recently met. You could ask David years later “When is my birthday?” and he could recite it back with the exact month, day and year. Another and most important memory of David is that he loved his little sister Kim; Whenever you saw David, Kim was always close by if not right there beside her brother.

We Love You David. We will miss you and Kimmie!! E. Arch St. will not be the same!
