Mr. Malcolm De’Shay Jenkins

Malcolm D. Jenkins, born September 25, 1988, son of Frank A. Jenkins and Clararesa G. Samuel chose to end his journey here on this earth Sunday, January 22, 2023.

Malcolm is survived by his wife, Kristine Jenkins, 3 children Ayrianah (13), Benjamin (11), Amya (9), his parents Frank (Sherr’ie) Jenkins and Perry J. Samuel Sr., his brothers Perry J. Samuel Jr. and Tommy Darby, his sisters Shambria Samuel, Airyesha (L’Derryus) Benson, Shakayla Samuel, Aaliyah Jenkins, Jazmin Jenkins, and I’esha Darby; best friend De’Andre Wright, his maternal grandmother Dorothy Curry, paternal grandparents Marshall (Gail) Minard, and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

Malcolm is preceded in death by his beautiful mother Clararesa G. Samuel his second mom, Teresa L. Goldsmith and grandfather Eddie L. Curry. Malcolm had an unforgettable smile and would light up any room as soon as he walked in. He was vivacious, strong-willed, kind, and tenacious with a gifted spirit. He was creative and an amazing artist. Being a father was his pride and joy and his ultimate desire was to give them and his wife the life that they deserved. There wasn’t a person on earth he
didn’t have a smile to offer or an interest in knowing – everyone was a friend. Malcolm left an immeasurable impression on every soul he touched. Little did any of us know, he didn’t save enough light for himself.

No one knew the darkness Malcolm faced when alone. He didn’t discuss the demons he felt within. This realization that someone could so successfully hide in broad daylight as a pillar of strength and project as much happiness as Malcolm did has left all that knew him shaken to the core.
It is impossible to prepare for the harsh reality of losing a loved one, especially a parent or child at such a young age. To lose Malcolm in this manner is unfathomable. It has left behind a desperate longing to understand the rationale of a mental illness no one knew to be present. The desperation, pain and despair Malcolm must have endured to feel it was best to leave his most beloved wife, children, family, and friends behind is unimaginable – yet Malcolm believed we could live without him. We will carry his legacy with us – his determinations, positivity, and divine energy as well as his
fears, flaws, and ultimately untimely death.

Friends and family may pay their condolences at a visitation Saturday, January 28 th from 3-4pm at Providence Baptist Church, 112 W. 6 th St., Mansfield, OH 44903. Funeral services to follow.
This silent epidemic is catastrophic. If talking about it, exposing it, or shouting it from the rooftops will help even one person find a way to talk about their pain, a difference can and must be made. To help others understand we must reach out to family members, friends, and strangers. Show kindness and openness to talk but most importantly to listen, to see and to hear without judgement. If only to save one family from the pain and anguish of losing a loved one through bringing awareness to this tragic and senseless loss of life, Malcolm’s death will not be in vain. See the signs, save a life. We cannot afford to lose another light.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate live house plants to fill his final resting place with continued life and Devine Energy.

Ministry of Comfort entrusted to MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE MANSFIELD 753 McPherson St. (formerly Williams Funeral Services). To stream the service and to offer condolences to The JENKINS Family visit www.TheChapelofPeace.com
