Mr. Ricky Walker

Ricky walker

Ricky was born in Crestline, Ohio on August 9, 1964 to Cornelius and Jeannette (Brown) Walker who preceded him in death.

Ricky was a 1983 graduate of Bucyrus High School where he made lifelong friends and excelled in athletics. In 1986, Ricky joined the United States Navy where he became a licensed boiler operator until 1990.

Known as the loquacious one in the family, Ricky very rarely stopped talking. He was full of jokes and those in his presence could not help but laugh at his antics. Because of this, he didn’t know a stranger and had many friends throughout Crawford county and beyond. He had a very caring heart, often taking care of the lawns of elderly neighbors in his hometown of Bucyrus. Ricky didn’t miss a day of playing his “numbers” and was not stingy with his earnings when he got lucky and hit. He also faithfully worked out and loved spending time at the YMCA of Bucyrus.

Ricky is survived by his children: Jarell Ricky Walker of Columbus; Joshua Walker of Columbus; and Regan Walker of Mansfield; beloved grandson: Jodeci White of Mansfield; siblings: Toni Brooks of Columbus; Michael Brown Sr. of Bucyrus; Rebecca Bonham of Winston Salem, North Carolina; Cornelius (Deanna) Walker Jr. of North Robinson; Marcella (Frank) Bolden of Bucyrus; and LeAnn Walker-Williams of Crestline; and 9 nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are his two favorite cousins that were more like brothers to him: Melvin and Gary Walker and his “ride or die” niece Melissa (Frank) Petty who he affectionately called Missy Poo.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 212 East Livingston Avenue, Crestline, Ohio. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Frank Bolden officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorial contributions be made to the YMCA of Bucyrus,1655 E. Southern Avenue, Bucyrus, Ohio 44820.
